Make sense of complex risk environments
To keep pace with the rapidly changing hazard and risk landscape, decision-makers need actionable and reliable insights. PDC’s Analytics Lab offers decades of experience in rapid, multi-dimensional risk analyses across diverse domains. Leveraging the most advanced, AI-powered trend identification and predictive analytics, we’ve helped decision makers from the strategic to tactical level identify vulnerabilities, anticipate threats, and build resilience to major shocks.
Our unique insights can help you:
- Support vulnerable populations
- Make strategic decisions about infrastructure placement and resource allocation
- Bolster partnerships and cooperation between international bodies, civilian and military organizations
- Improve planning and preparedness
- Improve training and exercise simulations

Global Risk and Vulnerability Index
PDC’s Multi-hazard risk score is a combination of multi-hazard exposure, vulnerability (susceptibility to impact), and coping capacity (the relative ability to absorb negative disaster impacts). This provides a collective measure of how each country may be affected by hazards and disasters as a whole over time.

2050 Anticipatory Risk Index
The only global analysis of its kind
PDC’s 2050 Anticipatory Risk Analysis represents a revolutionary breakthrough in the scaling and processing of extremely large geographic datasets. The analysis is flexible and can be run using multiple scenarios at any scale.

Fragility Index
PDC’s nationally-recognized Fragility Assessment was updated for the entire globe in 2024. The assessment examines the components of state fragility and provides a country-level comparison of the ability of countries to respond to and recover from destabilizing shocks. The assessment was first released in 2020 and later referenced in the 2022 U.S. Fragility Act.

Personal Security
PDC’s new Personal Security Index provides a country-level measure of societal safety and well-being. The index integrates data on violence, governance, economic conditions, and disaster exposure to provide a measure of where individuals are at higher risk of violence, exploitation, and insecurity.

Food Security
PDC’s Food Security Index provides a comprehensive assessment of factors that contribute to food insecurity, examining physical and social access to food, dietary quality, and nutritional deficiencies, while also considering environmental factors, economic challenges and food production.

Other Areas of Focus
PDC’s portfolio of work extends to other areas of complex risk analysis including the assessment of the potential impacts of unregulated fishing, modern slavery, vulnerability of critical assets to a variety of hazards, and more.
