A westward motion at a slightly faster forward speed is expected for the next several days. Maximum sustained winds are now near 40 mph (65 km/h) with higher gusts. Gradual weakening is anticipated, and Lowell is forecast to become a remnant low on Saturday. Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 90 miles (150 km) from the center.
