Global models are in good agreement that Invest 96W will consolidate and strengthen as it  tracks northwestward. Maximum sustained surface winds are estimated at 15-20 knots. The potential for the development of a significant tropical cyclone within the next 24 hours is upgraded to medium.

Here’s what the computer models are showing According to the JTWC, upper level analysis indicates an unfavorable environment, with warm sea surface temperatures, and marginal westward outflow, offset by moderate to strong 15-25 knot wind shear. Global models are in good agreement that 92A will weaken as it tracks towards the Arabian Peninsula. Maximum sustained surface winds are estimated at 20-25 knots. The potential for the development of a significant tropical cyclone within the next 24 hours is downgraded to low.
