These favorable environmental conditions will allow for further intensification as the system tracks northwestward, making landfall south of Chennai, India. TC Nivar will begin to rapidly weaken due to interaction with the underlying terrain. Increasing wind shear after 24 hours, along with terrain effects, will lead to further weakening and result in dissipation over land by 48 hours.

https://www.ssd.noaa.gov/PS/TROP/floaters/03A/imagery/avn0-lalo.gif There’s a tropical disturbance being referred to as Remnants of 03A, which is located approximately 53 NM east-southeast of Djibouti Here’s what the computer models are showing According to the JTWC, satellite imagery shows an area of disorganized convection associated with a weak low level circulation with a weak low level circulation center. Remnants of TC 03A is in an environment of moderate development with weak 10-15 knot wind shear and warm sea surface temperatures. Maximum sustained surface winds are estimated at 15-20 knots. The potential for the development of a significant tropical cyclone within the next 24 hours is remains medium.
