There’s a tropical disturbance, being referred to as Invest 93A, that’s located approximately 334 NM south-southwest of Mumbai, India. According to the JTWC, satellite imagery depicts a large area of flaring convection partially obscuring a broad low level circulation center. The environmental is marginal for further development, with moderate 15-20 knot wind shear, offset by warm sea surface temperatures,  and established equatorward outflow aloft.. Global models are in agreement that 93A will continue to consolidate into a tropical cyclone over the next 24 hours…as it continues to track slowly northward. Maximum sustained surface winds are estimated at 23-27 knots. The potential for development of a significant tropical cyclone within the next 24 hours is remains high.
