Invest 99S is in an environment favorable for further development, with westward upper level outflow, warm sea surface temperatures…offset by strong 25-30 knot wind shear. Global models are in good agreement that invest 99S will track to the west with intensification over the next 24 hours. Maximum sustained surface winds are estimated at 20-25 knots. The potential for the development of a significant tropical cyclone within the next 24 hours is low.
