Here’s what the computer models are showing
According to the NHC Advisory 13…Karina is moving toward the northwest near 12 mph (19 km/h), and this motion is expected to continue into Wednesday. Some slowing in forward speed and a turn toward the west and southwest is expected thereafter. Maximum sustained winds are near 60 mph (95 km/h) with higher gusts. Gradual weakening should begin tonight, and Karina is forecast to become a remnant low in two or three days. Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 90 miles (150 km) from the center.

An area of low pressure around 800 miles south-southeast of Hilo, Hawaii continues to produce disorganized showers and thunderstorms. Environmental conditions are expected to become somewhat conducive for development of this system during the next few days as it moves generally west-northwestward at around 10 mph.
