DEPRESSION CHANGES LITTLE THIS EVENING…INTERESTS ALONG THE SOUTHWESTERN COAST OF MEXICO AND BAJA CALIFORNIA SUR SHOULD MONITOR ITS PROGRESS OVER THE COMING DAYS
According to the NHC Advisory 2…The depression is moving toward the west near 7 mph (11 km/h). A turn toward the west-northwest is expected early Thursday, followed by a turn toward the northwest or north-northwest on Friday and Saturday.
On the forecast track, the center of the system is expected to pass near but offshore of the southwestern coast of Mexico on Friday and Saturday and then approach the southern portion of Baja California Sur on Sunday.
Maximum sustained winds remain near 35 mph (55 km/h) with higher gusts. Strengthening is expected during the next few days, and the depression is forecast to become a tropical storm on Thursday and then reach hurricane intensity over the weekend.
