CURRENT TROPICAL CYCLONES
Tropical Cyclone 16E (Norman) is located about 385 east of Hilo, Hawaii
Tropical Cyclone 17E (Olivia) is located about 1015 miles west-southwest of the southern tip of Baja California
According to the NHC…Olivia is moving toward the west near 13 mph, and this motion is expected to continue today. A turn toward the west-northwest is expected tonight, followed by a gradual turn back toward the west over the weekend.
Maximum sustained winds have decreased to near 110 mph with higher gusts. Additional slow weakening is expected during the next few days.
Hurricane-force winds extend outward up to 25 miles from the center and tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 90 miles.
1.) A broad area of low pressure is centered about 350 miles south- southwest of Manzanillo, Mexico. The shower activity associated with this low has increased a little during the past several hours and the upper-level winds are gradually becoming more conducive for development. A tropical depression could form by late this weekend or early next week while the system moves slowly toward the west-northwest at about 10 mph away from the coast of Mexico.

According to the CPHC…Norman is moving toward the west-northwest near 9 mph. This motion is expected to continue tonight, followed by a northwestward motion on Thursday and Friday. On the forecast track, the center of Norman will pass 200 to 300 miles to the northeast of the main Hawaiian Islands on Thursday and Friday.
Maximum sustained winds are near 120 mph with higher gusts.
Some weakening is forecast during the next 48 hours, although Norman is expected to remain a hurricane through Friday. Hurricane-force winds extend outward up to 30 miles from the center and tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 115 miles.
