PDC Global Hazards Atlas displaying the JTWC tropical cyclone positions, segments, and TAOS estimated wind impacts for typhoons Tembin and Bolaven
Typhoon Tembin (15W) is active in the southern Taiwan Strait. The JTWC forecast shows 15W doing a loop offshore from the east coast of mainland China. Tembin will remain a typhoon as it curves around and makes its way to the northeast…remaining offshore from south, southeast and eastern parts of Taiwan. Heavy weather, including high surf, strong and gusty winds, and flooding precipitation can be expected over parts of Taiwan as it remains in the vicinity.

Typhoon Bolaven (16W) is active over the western Pacific. Bolaven is forecast by the JTWC to strengthen further into a super typhoon over the open ocean during the next several days. The extended forecast for Bolaven shows it coming very close to, or right over Kadena AB within two days. It is then forecast to pass offshore from the east coast of mainland China, and offshore to the west of South Korea…before making landfall as a weakening typhoon within five days along the North Korean coast. South Korea will receive an edge pass from Bolaven, with possible very strong winds and heavy rainfall, along with high surf along the coast.
