PDC Global Hazards Atlas displaying 3 hour precipitation accumulation…and a tropical disturbance in the Western Pacific
An area of disturbed weather in the western Pacific is located approximately 225 NM northeast of Andersen AFB, Guam. This area, circled in orange above, has a medium chance of developing over the next 24-48 hours. The Joint Typhoon Warning Center (JTWC) suggests that a low level circulation is trying to develop. It ha disorganized convection around a broad area of low pressure troughing…although with no improvements in structure over the past six hours.
Surface wind speeds are estimated to be between 10-15 knots (12-17 mph) near the circulation center. Upper level winds are in the light to moderately strong range, along with favorable equator-ward divergence.

PDC Global Hazards Atlas displaying 3 hour precipitation accumulation…and a tropical disturbance in the Central Pacific Ocean
To the south of the main Hawaiian Islands, light thunderstorm activity continued in the Inter-tropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ). An area of showers and thunderstorms are located about 530 miles south of Hilo, Hawaii…and was associated with a weak center of low pressure. This area, according to the Central Pacific Hurricane Center (CPHC) has a low 10% chance of developing into a tropical cyclone during the next 48 hours.
This area of disturbed weather is being referred to as 94C. Here’s a close-up satellite image, along with what the hurricane models are showing. There is no threat to the Hawaiian Islands at this time. Here’s a view of 94C in relation to the islands.
