The picture above, with a red circle surrounding the focus area, shows possible tropical cyclone development during the next 24 hours. It’s located approximately 310 NM north-northeast of Vanuatu…where there’s a consolidating low level circulation center. Winds near the center of this area have increased since yesterday to 25-30 knots. Favorable environment conditions continue to exist in this area, including sea surface temperatures above 80F. The Joint Typhoon Warning Center (JTWC) is giving this area a high chance of developing.
