There is an area of convection circled in yellow above…referred to as Invest 99L, located approximately 400 miles south-southeast of Cape Hatteras, North Carolina
According to the NHC, it has a low chance of developing within the next 48 hours.
1) A non-tropical area of low pressure located about 400 miles south-southeast of Cape Hatteras, North Carolina, is expected to move toward the north-northeast with increasing forward speed later today. Increasing upper-level winds are expected to limit the opportunity for this system to become a subtropical or tropical cyclone, and this low is expected to degenerate into a trough ahead of an approaching frontal system tonight or early Saturday.
