Tropical cyclone Debby (04L) has quickly moved across northern Florida, and is now located in the western Atlantic Ocean. A host of negative environment factors suggest that Debby will remain a weak tropical depression, without much further strengthening. There is even a chance that she will dissipate soon…according to a few of the models.
The official NHC forecast track takes Debby eastward away from the Florida coast as a tropical depression. There is a chance that this TD could strengthen back into a tropical storm, although that would be well out to sea later this coming weekend. Here’s a satellite image showing tropical depression Debby offshore to the east of Florida.

A TROPICAL WAVE LOCATED LOCATED ABOUT 1600 MILES EAST OF THE SOUTHERN WINDWARD ISLANDS CONTINUES TO PRODUCE DISORGANIZED SHOWERS AND A FEW THUNDERSTORMS. DEVELOPMENT OF THIS WAVE..IF ANY…SHOULD BE SLOW TO OCCUR AS IT MOVES WESTWARD AT 10 TO 15 MPH. THIS SYSTEM HAS A LOW CHANCE…10 PERCENT…OF BECOMING A TROPICAL CYCLONE DURING THE NEXT 48 HOURS.
