Global Flood Update!
Over the past week flooding has occurred around the world! In South America, heavy rain increased water levels in the Parana River which caused flooding in Paraguay and Argentina. In Paraguay, 12,000 people were affected by flooding, and around 4,000 were evacuated from Ayolas (ECHO). Around 3,000 people were evacuated from the Chaco and Corrientes provinces in Argentina (ECHO). Additionally, heavy rain caused flooding and landslides in China, affecting about 2.44 million people in Sichuan, displacing around 119,500 (ReliefWeb). PDC also monitored flood events in Guinea, India, Indonesia, Sierra Leone, and the United States (New York, North Dakota, and the Northeast).
PDC is also currently monitoring flooding events in: Argentina, China, Guinea, India, Indonesia, Paraguay, Sierra Leone, and the United States (Northeast, North Dakota, and the Midwest).
