Southwest Pacific Ocean

>>> There’s an area of disturbed weather being referred to as Invest 91P…which is located approximately 125 NM west-northwest of Tonga Island.

Animated enhanced infrared satellite imagery depict persistent convection on the eastern periphery of a fully exposed low-level circulation center (llcc), with winds up to 30 knots along the southern periphery of the llcc.

Environmental analysis reveals marginally favorable conditions for development with good equatorward outflow aloft and warm sea surface temperatures, offset by moderate to high (20-25 knot) vertical wind shear.

Global models are in general agreement that Invest 91P will gradually develop as it tracks west-southwestward over the next 24-48 hours.

Maximum sustained surface winds are estimated at 25 to 30 knots.

The potential for the development of a significant tropical cyclone within the next 24 hours is low.
