There’s a tropical disturbance being referred to as Invest 98P…which is located approximately 127 NM north of Willis Island, Australia.
According to the JTWC, satellite imagery depicts a disorganized system with low level circulation partly exposed and displaced southward from the deep convection.
Upper level analysis indicates a marginally favorable environment with good poleward outflow aloft, warm sea surface temperature offset by moderate (15-20 knot) vertical wind shear.
Global models are in an agreement of a weak and slow development over the next 48-72 hours.
The potential for the development of a significant tropical cyclone within the next 24 hours is Low.
