According to the JTWC warning number 14, sustained winds were 35 knots, with gusts to 45 knots.
Animated multi-spectral satellite imagery shows a system that has been stripped of all deep convection, fully exposing the low level circulation center.
Analysis indicates a highly unfavorable environment with high (25+ knot) westerly vertical wind shear, cool sea surface temperatures, and dry air intrusion only slightly offset by moderate radial outflow.
TC Bheki will track more south southwestward as the str recedes, passing just to the south of Mauritius and La Reunion after 12 hours. The highly unfavorable environment will promote gradual decay leading to dissipation by 48 hours, possibly sooner.
