The Pacific Disaster Center’s (PDC Global) Thursday, July 4, 2024, Tropical Cyclone Activity Report…for the Pacific Ocean, the Indian Ocean, and adjacent Seas
Current Tropical Cyclones:
Tropical Cyclone 01E (Aletta) is located about 245 miles west of Manzanillo, Mexico…according to the NHC advisory number 3
Northeast Pacific Ocean:
Tropical Cyclone 01E (Aletta)
ALETTA FORECAST TO REMAIN WELL OFFSHORE OF MEXICO
Aletta is moving toward the northwest near 14 mph (22 km/h). A turn toward the west-northwest and west is expected tonight and Friday, followed by a turn toward the west-southwest Friday night and Saturday.
Maximum sustained winds are near 40 mph (65 km/h) with higher gusts.
Weakening is forecast during the next day or two. Aletta is forecast to become a remnant low by Friday night and dissipate by this weekend.
Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 45 miles (75 km) from the center.
Central North Pacific:
No tropical cyclones are expected during the next 7 days.
Western Pacific, Indian Ocean and adjacent Seas
There are no areas of disturbed weather under investigation by the Joint Typhoon Warning Center (JTWC)
