The Pacific Disaster Center’s (PDC Global) Friday, July 19, 2024, Tropical Cyclone Activity Report…for the Pacific Ocean, the Indian Ocean, and adjacent Seas

Current Tropical Cyclones:

Tropical Cyclone 04W…is located approximately 347 NM east of Da Nang, Vietnam

Tropical Cyclone 05W…is located approximately 698 NM south of Kadena AB, Japan

 

Northeast Pacific Ocean:

>>> Central and Western East Pacific:

A tropical wave located along a monsoon trough well to the south of the coast of Mexico is producing a broad area of showers and thunderstorms.

Some gradual development of this system is possible over the next several days as it moves westward to west-northwestward at 10 to 15 mph, moving into the western portion of the basin by the middle to latter parts of next week.

* Formation chance through 7 days…low…20 percent

Central North Pacific:

No tropical cyclones are expected during the next 7 days.

According to the JTWC advisory number 2, sustained winds were 30 knots…with gusts to 40 knots.
