Here’s a near real-time wind profile of TC 11S

According to the Joint Typhoon Warning Center (JTWC), satellite images shows a system with a weak and ragged low level circulation, which is partially exposed and sheared from the main convection.

Upper level analysis indicates that TC 11S is in an area of moderate wind shear, however a dual outflow channel is providing good ventilation to the sheared convection.

TC 11S is expected to move southwestward and gradually intensify, as wind shear relaxes, peaking at near 60 knots within 96 hours…before wind shear increases and sea surface temperatures decrease.

Maximum sustained winds as of the JTWC Warning #5 were 30 knots with gusts of 40 knots.

Here’s a near real-time wind profile of TC 09S

According to the Joint Typhoon Warning Center (JTWC), satellite images show the low level circulation has unraveled over the past 6-hours. Additionally, the associated convection has collapsed and dispersed…due to high wind shear.

The JTWC notes that this system is being closely monitored for signs of a second regeneration.

Maximum sustained winds as of the JTWC Warning #4 were 30 knots with gusts of 40 knots.

 

Eastern North Pacific

The eastern Pacific hurricane season officially ended on November 30, 2016. Therefore, the last regularly scheduled tropical weather outlook of the 2016 hurricane season has occurred. During the off-season, special tropical weather outlooks will be issued as conditions warrant. The Pacific Disaster Center (PDC) will begin coverage of the eastern Pacific again on May 15, 2017.

Central North Pacific

The central north Pacific hurricane season officially ended on November 30, 2016. Therefore, the last regularly scheduled tropical weather outlook of the 2016 hurricane season has occurred. During the off-season, special tropical weather outlooks will be issued as conditions warrant. The Pacific Disaster Center (PDC) will begin coverage of the central Pacific again on June 1, 2017.
