The National Hurricane Center (NHC) shows no active tropical cyclones. However, there is a tropical wave in the Caribbean, described below…which is producing heavy thunderstorm activity. This wave is progressing westward, although at the moment there is strong wind shear of near 46 mph in that area. As it approaches the Gulf of Mexico, this vertical wind shear is likely to slow down, as we get towards the upcoming weekend. It’s too early to know what will transpire as we get into the weekend, although this situation bears close monitoring as we move through the work week.
