There are no active tropical cyclones in the Pacific or Indian Oceans…or adjacent seas

Checking the Joint Typhoon Warning Center (JTWC), and the National Hurricane Center (NHC), neither of these agencies are carrying active tropical cyclones for their areas of responsibility. The picture above however, shows that the NHC is investigating an area of disturbed weather that has a medium 30% chance of developing, called invest 91E. The various computer forecast models show where this area of low pressure could migrate with time…if it were to continue to develop further.
This area of low pressure was located near 10N and 106W, southwest of Acapulco, Mexico. It was moving in a west-northwest direction, at near 10 knots (12 mph). This tropical disturbance was producing disorganized showers and thunderstorms. Satellite imagery shows that this convection has diminished to the east and southeast of the low level center. Scattered moderate to isolated heavy convection is noted with 120 NM southwest of the low level center. This low is under upper level ridging, and over a warm sea surface…which may allow a gradual intensification over the next 48 hours.
This is a NOAA graphical map that shows this area, the only one in any tropical ocean that is currently under investigation. This is a two day looping satellite image of this area offshore from southern Mexico. This next satellite image, shows the close-up looping of the thunderstorms in the area of invest 91E.

>A SURFACE TROUGH OF LOW PRESSURE CONTINUES TO PRODUCE DISORGANIZED SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ABOUT 550 MILES SOUTH-SOUTHWEST OF ACAPULCO MEXICO. HOWEVER…SOME GRADUAL DEVELOPMENT IS STILL POSSIBLE OVER THE NEXT FEW DAYS AS THE DISTURBANCE MOVES WESTWARD AT ABOUT 10 MPH. THIS SYSTEM HAS A MEDIUM CHANCE…30 PERCENT…OF BECOMING A TROPICAL CYCLONE DURING THE NEXT 48 HOURS.
TROPICAL CYCLONE FORMATION IS NOT EXPECTED DURING THE NEXT 48 HOURS.
