Tropical Cyclone Activity Report – Pacific / Indian Oceans

There are no active tropical cyclones in the Pacific or Indian Oceans…or adjacent seas

PDC Global Hazards Atlas displaying 3 hour precipitation accumulation, with a tropical disturbance in the South Pacific...that has a medium chance of developing within 24 hours

The area circled in orange above, has been given a medium chance of developing into a significant tropical cyclone, by the Joint Typhoon Warning Center (JTWC). This area is located approximately 375 NM east of Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea. Satellite imagery shows increasing organization of a low level circulation center, with improving convective banding. Winds in the area are blowing between 20-25 knots (23-28 mph). Environment conditions are conducive for development of this system.
