Tropical cyclone 04A is dissipating in the north Arabian Sea…located approximately 280 NM south of Cape Guardafui, Somalia (Dissipating tropical cyclone…sustained winds of 45 knots, with gusts to near 55 knots) – Final Warning

PDC Global Hazards Atlas displaying 3 hour precipitation accumulation, dissipating tropical cyclone 04A, with JTWC positions, segments, error cones, winds...in the northern Arabian Sea

Short-lived tropical cyclone 04A, in the northern Arabian Sea, has tracked southwestward at near 12 knots during the past six hours. Whatever deep convection that was associated with this system, is now gone. Dry continental air is being drawn in the system at low levels, and with easterly vertical shear aloft…an unfavorable environment exists. Thus, the Joint Typhoon Warning Center (JTWC) has given its final warning, as 04A remains offshore of Somalia.

PDC Global Hazards Atlas displaying 3 hour precipitation accumulation, an area circled in red...with a high chance of developing into a significant tropical cyclone during the next 24 hours

A deep area of disturbed weather is active in the Philippine Sea…located approximately 280 NM west-northwest of Koror, Palau. Satellite imagery reveals a consolidating low level circulation center, with improving convective banding. Maximum sustained winds near the surface are estimated to be 15-20 knots, along with warm to very warm sea surface temperatures (83-86F). As the environment conditions remain favorable for development of a significant tropical cyclone during the next 24 hours…the Joint Typhoon Warning Center (JTWC) is giving a high chance for continued growth.
