The picture above, with a red circle surrounding the focus area, shows possible tropical cyclone development during the next 12-24 hours. It’s located approximately 155 NM north-northwest of Espiritu Santo Island, Vanuatu…where there’s a band of deep convection along the periphery of an elongated low level circulation center. Winds near this area are blowing at 25-30 knots (29-35 mph). Current conditions should support further intensification in the very near term, although the window for development is closing. The Joint Typhoon Warning Center (JTWC) is giving this area a high chance of developing.
