The picture above, with an orange circle surrounding the focus area, shows possible tropical cyclone development during the next 24 hours. It’s located approximately 700 NM northwest of Nadi, Fiji, where deep bands of thunderstorms are developing. Winds near the center of this area are between 15-20 knots. Favorable environment conditions exist in this area, including sea surface temperatures above 80F. The Joint Typhoon Warning Center (JTWC) is giving this area a medium chance of developing.
