Tropical Cyclone Activity Report – Pacific / Indian Oceans

Tropical cyclone 02B (Two)… is active in the north Indian Ocean…located about 165 NM northeast of Colombo, Sri Lanka (weakening tropical cyclone…40 knot sustained winds)

Tropical cyclone 02B (Two)…active in the northIndian Ocean, as a weakening tropical cyclone.

 

PDC Global Hazards Atlas displaying 3 day precipitation accumulation an area circled in orange, which has a medium 40% chance of developing into a tropical cyclone within the next 48 hours, and an area circled in yellow, which has a low 20% chance of developing into a tropical cyclone within the next 48 hours.

FOR THE EASTERN NORTH PACIFIC…EAST OF 140 DEGREES WEST LONGITUDE:

There are no current tropical cyclones

SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ASSOCIATED WITH AN AREA OF LOW PRESSURE LOCATED ABOUT 750 MILES SOUTHWEST OF MANZANILLO MEXICO HAVE CHANGED LITTLE IN ORGANIZATION THIS MORNING. UPPER-LEVEL WINDS ARE BECOMING UNFAVORABLE FOR DEVELOPMENT…AND THIS SYSTEM HAS A MEDIUM CHANCE…40 PERCENT…OF BECOMING A TROPICAL CYCLONE DURING THE NEXT 48 HOURS AS IT MOVES WEST-NORTHWESTWARD AT AROUND 10 MPH.

DISORGANIZED SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS CONTINUE IN ASSOCIATION WITH A WEAK AREA OF LOW PRESSURE LOCATED ABOUT 400 MILES SOUTH OF MANZANILLO MEXICO. UPPER-LEVEL WINDS ARE ONLY MARGINALLY CONDUCIVE FOR DEVELOPMENT BUT ARE EXPECTED TO BECOME LESS FAVORABLE WITHIN A DAY OR SO. THIS SYSTEM HAS A LOW CHANCE…20 PERCENT…OF BECOMING A TROPICAL CYCLONE DURING THE NEXT 48 HOURS AS IT MOVES SLOWLY WEST-NORTHWESTWARD.

ELSEWHERE…TROPICAL CYCLONE FORMATION IS NOT EXPECTED DURING THE NEXT 48 HOURS.
