PDC Global Hazards Atlas displaying 3 hour precipitation accumulation with NHC forecast positions, segments, winds and error cones for hurricane Nadine in the Atlantic Ocean
Hurricane Nadine (14L) remains active in the middle Atlantic Ocean, after having increased in strength a notch from yesterday’s tropical storm classification. The NHC shows this hurricane remaining as such, through the next 48 hours, before dropping down to a tropical storm again thereafter. This long lasting tropical storm, having remained active already 16 days, may continue well into next week. It will eventually move towards the northeast, over cooler sea surface temperatures, which will put an end to this system then. Nadine is staying away from land areas, and is forecast to continue that pattern. However, moisture associated with Nadine is moving eastward over Spain, bringing heavy precipitation to that area.
