Tropical Cyclone Activity Report – Pacific / Indian Oceans

There are no active tropical cyclones in the Pacific or Indian Oceans

PDC Global Hazards Atlas displaying an area of disturbed weather noted by the JTWC, which has a high chance of developing into a tropical cyclone within the next 24 hours

The area above circled in blue is a tropical disturbance, which is being given a high chance of developing into a tropical cyclone. Winds in this area are estimated to be 15-20 knots, which is showing some light circulation at this time…and moving towards the central Philippines at near 8 knots (9 mph). The approximate location of this area is 345 NM northwest of Palau in the western Pacific. The environment factors are all positive for developing a tropical depression in this area of the Philippine Sea.

Central North Pacific

TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK
FOR THE CENTRAL NORTH PACIFIC…BETWEEN 140W AND 180:

The central north Pacific hurricane season officially ended on November 30.  The NWSFO in Honolulu will resume issuing outlooks starting again on June 1 of 2012.
