A low pressure area centered about 950 miles southwest of Honolulu is moving west slowly. Scattered thunderstorms occurring on the periphery of the low level circulation center have weakened over the past six hours. Atmospheric conditions remain unfavorable for significant development. There is a low chance, 10 percent, of this system becoming a tropical cyclone in the next 48 hours.
Elsewhere, no tropical cyclones are expected through Thursday afternoon.
