PDC Map Viewer Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Why do I get a "No Features found" message when I use the Identify tools?
A: When using the Identify tools to select features within a region of interest that crosses the International Date Line (180 degrees East/West Longitude) an error message may be displayed: "No Features found." This is a known problem with ESRI's ArcIMS software. To correctly identify such features, zoom more closely into the area of interest and identify them one at a time. We are trying to resolve this problem as soon as possible.
Q: How often are Atlas Data updated?
A: Data are updated on a case by case basis. PDC makes all efforts to keep the data in the Atlas as current as possible. Please refer to the "metadata hyperlink" on each TOC entry to determine the most recent update date for the dataset of interest.
Q: What is the difference between the Identify and Identify All tools?
A: The Identify tool will give information only about the "Active" layer, while the Identify All tool returns results on all "Visible" layers. For more information on these tools please see the Help documentation of each map viewer.
