PDC exhibited in the Public Safety Showcase during the ESRI International User Conference.
Chief Information Officer Chris Chiesa led a delegation of four Geospatial Information Systems (GIS) users from PDC who participated in the ESRI International User Conference (IUC) and the concurrent Homeland Security GIS (HLS-GIS) Summit in San Diego, California, July 10–16. The PDC contingent included Senior Imagery Analyst & Geospatial Database Manager Rich Nezelek, Geospatial Information Analyst Colin Lindeman and Programmer Kevin Madaya, all of whom attended and participated in various events in connection with ESRI IUC and HLS-GIS. Chiesa was invited to speak in a plenary session at the HLS-GIS. However, since he was traveling from the UN-SPIDER Africa Workshop, “Building upon Regional Space-based Solutions for Disaster Management and Emergency Response for Africa” in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, and could not reach San Diego in time. Nezelek spoke in his place. Other speakers in the session included representatives from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, Louisiana State University Police Department, and Department of Homeland Security Office of Intelligence.
